When my friend, Keri, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, I felt helpless!
I wanted to help her as much as I could but there wasn’t much I could do.
Until I came across this amazing event!
Relay for Life.
It was put on by the Canadian Cancer Society.
A team of 10 people together, raise pledges and then walk all night to raise funds and awareness to all cancers.
So, I put a team together to support my friend.
We made a flag and gathered pledges.
It was a little thing, but it made me feel like I was making a huge difference.
The Canadian Cancer Society helps those diagnosed with Cancer and their families.
It’s an important charity because it helps people effected by ALL cancers. Keri was very grateful that we did this in her honor. She even helped me sew the flag!
Watching Keri and her family struggle with Cancer made me feel helpless, this event made us feel courage and hope.
Keri joined our team for several laps, she was an inspiration to us all..she was even quoted in the local newspaper.
An emotional but amazing event.
We walked all night, because cancer doesn’t sleep, so neither did we!
