I wasn’t really prepared to run this race as I hadn’t been training, but I knew if I took it easy I would have no problem completing it.
At about KM 8 my legs started cramping and seizing. It hurt so bad!
I had to stop, Laurie massaged my calf for a couple of minutes, and we carried on.
We completed this run with a time of 1:35…Not a bad time considering the amount of times I had to stop for my legs. 😦
This Toronto 10K replaced the Toronto Yonge St 10K that I have ran for the past 2 years.
It was a nicer route, running along the lake shore, past the CN tower and the Molson Amphitheatre to the finish line.
The finish line was very close to the old finish line, but it was quiet the walk back to our vehicle.
Next time we will make sure we have the $5 for the shuttle 🙂
We received a t-shirt, cool “First Edition” medal and finisher certificate.
There was even an Olympic runner on the course with us!!
